Academic Overview of the Wet Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop

The 5th Wet Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop, organized on 17th-18th January 2026, is a flagship academic activity of the GeNext MedEd Foundation, which reflects the Foundation’s dedication to the development of organized, ethical, and skill-based medical education. The activity was organized in scholarly collaboration with the Department of Anatomy, PGIMS Rohtak, and clinical support from We Care Multispecialty Hospital, Rohtak.

This two-day cadaveric workshop was planned as an intensive academic forum for otologic and skull base surgical training, bringing together postgraduate trainees, young consultants, and senior ENT surgeons from all over India and abroad. Considering its magnitude, facilities, and academic content, this workshop is believed to be one of the most extensive Wet Temporal Bone Dissection workshops organized in the country.

Academic Vision of the Foundation

GeNext MedEd Foundation is dedicated to promoting excellence in medical education through evidence-based teaching, hands-on training, and learning through mentorship. The 5th Wet Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop was organized to meet the Foundation’s primary academic goals:

• To enhance the basic and advanced understanding of temporal bone anatomy

• To enable practical learning of surgical skills in a supervised academic setting

• To integrate anatomy, radiology, and surgical principles into a unified learning framework

• To facilitate academic interaction among national and international delegates

• To promote a culture of lifelong learning and ethical surgical practice

The workshop focused on competency-based learning, ensuring that the participants moved from anatomical awareness to procedural performance.

Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance

The workshop was formally accredited by the Haryana Medical Council and was given 9 credit hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME). The accreditation of the workshop ensures that the program is following the required academic standards.

Scale, Infrastructure & Academic Design

The workshop stood out because of its unparalleled magnitude and learner-oriented infrastructure, which set a new standard for all temporal bone dissection programs in India.

Academic Infrastructure Highlights

  • 26 individual temporal bone dissection stations, one of the highest individual wet temporal bone dissections ever set up for a single workshop in India

  • One Bone – One Station – One Mentor academic model

  • Equipped stations offering:

    • Operation microscopes

    • High-speed drilling systems

    • Suction and irrigation facilities

    • Dedicated faculty demonstration station

    • Live audiovisual transmission via LED screens for more effective learning.

That created the infrastructure to uniformly expose each delegate academically, mentor them individually, and continuously involve them in hands-on practice.
