From demonstration to practice: the workshop programme

A reading guide to Day 1 at PGIMS Rohtak, from temporal bone dissection to focused ENT workshops.

Two parallel learning settings

The published programme for 11 September 2026 placed practical learning at the centre of the opening day of the 45th North West Zone AOICON. At PGIMS Rohtak, the Dissection Hall programme focused on temporal bone work, while Lecture Hall No. 6 carried workshops in vertigo, thyroplasty, allergy and coblation. Reading the two schedules together shows how the conference accommodated distinct educational needs within one day.

The temporal bone sequence

The Dissection Hall schedule moved from demonstrations to specimen preparation and hands-on dissection. Named topics included posterior tympanotomy, canal wall down surgery and the facial nerve, and an approach towards the petrous apex. Later entries included pinna carving and faculty review of dissected specimens. The Foundation’s event record describes a 30-station workshop and identifies it with the sixth Pinna to Petrous edition. These are programme details, not a measure of individual competence or verified attendance.

Four focused workshop areas

The Lecture Hall No. 6 record grouped teaching into four areas. Vertigo included introductory teaching, positional manoeuvres and a VNG demonstration. Thyroplasty combined an indications-and-techniques session with demonstration and hands-on activity. Allergy included testing and clinical work-up, while coblation brought together explanatory teaching, a surgical video session and demonstration. The full workshop page preserves the named faculty and chairperson relationships without reducing them to a single generic faculty list.

A way to revisit the day

For a reader returning to this archive, the useful starting point is a specific learning question: which part of the demonstration needs further reading, which anatomical relationship needs clarification, or which source was cited? Programme titles alone cannot supply the answer. They can, however, help locate the right session and the right person to approach for an approved educational resource.

What this account records

This feature summarises the published workshop structure. It does not independently establish that every listed activity ran exactly as scheduled, and it does not reproduce operative instructions or patient material. The linked programme and workshop pages remain the detailed source record.
